> An internship at Iris Ohyama
An internship at Iris OhyamaAn interesting internship at Iris
Ohyama
For me this means 10 weeks of working at Iris Ohyama at the
marketing department. This department contents 2 women en 1 man,
ME! The main language to communicate with each other is English.
But some people also speak Japanese, Polish, Dutch, German or
French too. Why is that?
What is Iris Ohyama actually? Iris Ohyama makes plastic articles like boxes, chests, waste buckets and laundry baskets. The company started with producing boxes only, but after a few years Iris Ohyama started to bring their assortment to a bigger size. A new product line of Iris is a pet line. In Japan they know these products for a few years now. They started with the pet line in Europe in 2010. You might see some influence of Japanese uses in the products because they are a little bit different compared to European standards. Like a maxi cosi for dogs, or a castle for cats. But they noticed these different products are very popular in France. For the marketing Iris Europe knows a few big competitors, like
the German Curver and Rotho, the Italian Totarelli and K.I.S. All
these companies have a basic line which is very similar to each
other. But each company has its own accents and design. And a
special line as well.
